We are the current officers at Circle Centre. We are passionate about circular economy and sustainability. That's why we are dedicating our free time to promote a culture of sharing in place of a culture of individual consumption.

Anna

Elfström

Maintenance Officer

Anna is a master graduate from the LUMES program, who always have had a passion for making things last longer, may that be food or clothes. Born and raised in Lund, she enjoys thrifting in the many second-hand shops and flea markets and learn creative ways of making the most of our natural resources. She joined Circle Center in an effort to engage and network with other people who like her, wants to make a difference and impact consumer trends.

Brooke

Savoy

Event Officer

Brooke is a masters student in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science (LUMES) at Lund University. She is originally from Canada, but has also lived in the United States and South Korea before coming to Sweden. Her interest in waste reduction and lowering consumption led her to join Circle Centre. She hopes to continue to foster a circular culture in Lund through this work and learn about running a non-profit organization. Brooke enjoys spending time in nature, crocheting, a good coffee, and learning languages.

Ekaterina

Tarasova

Common Workspace Event Officer

Ekaterina is interested in all three dimentions of sustaianability and it's balance. Studied at International Trade Law program, LU, to tackle sustainable food chains. She is a responcible consumption and social justice enthusiast and believes that real sharing economy must stay non-commercial. Relocated many times and has been always enjoying being a part of local international communities and their impact. Loves traveling, camping, art and music, reading and thinking but most of all - meeting kind people.

Elif

Özdemir

Social Media Officer

Elif is a Master’s student in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science at Lund University and is from Istanbul, Turkey. She joined Circle Centre because she is eager to be a part of change. She believes that changing her consumption habits and being a part of Circle Centre’s unique community will be a great journey for her. Apart from her studies and work in Circle Centre, Elif loves making handmade products, traveling and spending time with pets.

Laura

Vega

Loan Officer

Laura is from Bogotá, Colombia. She is currently studying the master program Environmental Studies & Sustainability Science. Back in her country, she was working and volunteering in the sustainability field, so being able to join the Circle Centre team was very exciting for her. Besides sustainability, Laura is also passionate about human behavior, animals, & podcasts.

Paulina

Rudnik

External Relations Officer

Paulina is originally from Poland and came to Lund for the Master in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science. Her interest in circular economy and willingness to fight overconsumption brought her to Circle Center, where she can combine her values with the previous experience in public relations. She enjoys taking part in new projects and she's especially looking forward to sharing the idea of Circle Center with the community.

Simone

Cimadomo

External Relations Officer

Simone is from Italy and came to Sweden for a Master's in Environmental Management and Policy at Lund University's IIIEE. He has a background in economics and is passionate about sustainable consumption and production, circular economy and degrowth. He joined Circle Centre to experience running a sharing economy and to discover how it fits into urban and local governance environments. In his free time you'll find him outdoors, travelling or hiking, taking pictures of landscapes and buildings, playing sports and volunteering.

Sophia

Lahey

Team Officer

Sophie is from the Midwest region of the United States and became interested in overconsumption when she started dumpster diving in her previous town, where university students would leave a large amount of usable items on the curb every summer. This lead her to her current studies, a master's program in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science at Lund University to better understand the circular economy and waste. As the Team Officer, she is excited to help fight overconsumption through assisting the Circle Centre team and volunteers.

Lexi 

Malick

Content Creation Officer

Lexi is from Seattle WA, USA and has come to Sweden to study Environmental Management and Policy at Lund University. She became especially interested in sustainability and circularity after studying apparel design and seeing the extreme impacts the apparel industry has on both the health of the environment and people. As the content creator at Circle Center, Lexi hopes to enhance community engagement, showing people the benefits of circularity and how they can be a part of the change.

Neha

Poddar

Finance Officer

Inzhu Mukhametkali

Inventory Officer

Neha is from India and has a strong background in finance. She loves analyzing things in numeric terms and is passionate about sustainable consumption and production. What better place than Circle Centre to contribute and gain experience in working towards a circular economy! In her free time, she is either cooking, volunteering or exploring new places.

She is a graduate student in Media and Communication Studies from Kazakhstan, who supports the sustainability movement. She joined Circle Centre to contribute to social change and make sure that all the needed items are provided to the community. She is interested in the Circular Economy because she wants to encourage the world to take a more sustainable path for its future.

Ronja Karvinen

Board Member

Ronja tends to find it hard to remain in one place and is constantly on the go. Her very social character makes her somewhat of an exception to the stereotypical Finnish person. She is passionate about finding solutions for more sustainable lifestyles, and finds joy in sharing ideas with people around her. In her spare time she loves to bake vegan pastries, to sip espressos at crowded cafés and to study development theories. When life becomes a bit too hectic she rolls out her workout mat and tries to finish way too complicated youtube-workouts.

Cara Siepenkort

Secretary of the Board

Cara is a Sustainability Expert whos passions lie in addressing systemic issues by challenging the status quo and pushing the sustainability agenda forward! While studying for her master's in Environmental Studies & Sustainability Science, she worked as the Events Manager and Communications Officer at Circle Centre. With her creativity and drive, she loves to connect people and great ideas and is keen to collaborate for creating positive change.

Philipp Montenegro

Board Member

Philipp strongly believes in positive change through collaboration and the exchange of ideas and perspectives. He was an officer at Circle Centre during his master’s studies in Sustainability sciences at Lund University. He loves supporting the simple and genius idea of systematically sharing more with more people, whether that is camping gear, sewing knowledge, or perspectives on sustainability. Philipp is a passionate photographer and loves to spend time outdoors photographing nature and wildlife.

Jeremy Meteyer

Board Member

Jeremy is from France and moved to Sweden in 2017. He is passionate about sustainable systems and the role of energy and resources in societal development. He has been involved in waste prevention organisations for the last 5 years and most likely for the next 5 years too! During his free time, Jeremy enjoys reading, outdoor endurance sports and playing saxophone.

Volunteer with us! 

You can identify with Circle Centre's values and want to commit some of your free-time to support our mission? We are always looking for motivated Volunteers to support our Officers in their daily work!

 

Depending on your interests, you could for example help us run opening hours, keep the library space organised, get new items, take pictures of our inventory, or be a helping hand at events. There is always a lot to do and this is only what we can think of right now! If you have more ideas, we would love for you to share them with us!

Circle Centre is not only a great place to put your passion for sustainability into action, but also  to gain valuable experiences and skills, and to be part of a great team! We host regular team events for everyone involved in the organisation and have a fun time together.
